March 17th: I have started my journey to St. Louis. I am overnighting at Nahsville Humane Society. Celeste and  Ron put me up in a private suite and donated a doggie bed for me. I have had a 9 hour ride so far and I am worn out. Dobermans aren't Irish but it's been my Lucky Day!

My name is Russ and I am traveling from South Carolina to St. Louis this weekend. I am heartworm positive and will have to be treated, my recovery time is 45 days and I will be as good as new.

Heartworm prevention is a Requirement if you adopt from Doberman Rescue. The treatment is very expensive and it is hard on the Doberman and has a lengthy recovery time. If you love your dog you will keep them on Heartorm Prevention the cost is alot less for the monthly pill then to pay for Heartworm treatment, anywhere from $500.00 to $1,000.00 and the medication is coming from Europe as the US manufaturer has quit producing it.  

They say I am fine with big dogs but that I don't like small ones. We will have to figure out what I like and don't like when I get here.
