Hi, I'm Sam and I travelled here from Kansas.  I was found as a stray and turned into an animal shelter (scary!)  My family never came to get me.  I am a young Doberman, around 7 months old, and I have tons and tons of energy.  I need a fenced yard so I can run around and get the crazies out and I would probably do best in a home with another dog who would play with me.  Otherwise, my new people will have to keep me entertained.

I am a good boy in the house.  I am housebroken and really like my crate.  My foster family says I am a hoarder because when no one is looking, I sneak around the house, gather up all the dog toys, bones and occassional shoe laying around, and I hide them all in my crate.  I have a big fluffy comforter in my crate and I'm very particular about how it is spread out.  Mom will fold up my comforter and put it in the back of my crate so I have a bed and still have room to play.  Then I go in behind her and spend about ten minutes spreading it out so that it perfectly covers the entire floor of my crate.  Then I have extra hiding space for all the toys I collect.

When I'm finally done playing for the day, I love to cuddle up on the couch next to Mom with my head in her lap.  Or I lay on a dog bed at her feet, usually with a toy in my mouth or near by.  I also love to give hugs.  Even when I'm busy playing, I'll run up to my foster mom, give her a quick hug, and go back to my busy day.

I'm neutered and up to date on my shots, but I do have a bad hip.  I was born that way and so far it is not slowing me down.  In the future, I may need hip surgery and some day I might have arthritis (don't all old dogs get that?)  But those are things to consider if you're interested in adopting me.  My hip looks a little funny, but my face is so cute, who's going to notice my bad hip?  I can give just as much love as a puppy with two good hips.  I can't wait to find my own home.  But for now, I better get back to playing with my toy...
